the title "la beau" refers to the beauty that i see in gay men. i have been inspired to create this work by the radical beauty ideals present in the gay community. with so much focus today on the creation of a more picturesque male body for oneself, i chose to turn my camera elsewhere to search for something more. what i found in my subjects was the lesson that beauty does not equal glamour. together we have created awe-inspiring landscapes of male flesh that defy the fanatical beauty standards present within the gay community.
